Preparing for Birth

Baby is almost here.
If you are up for it, sit comfortably (if that’s even possible!) right before bed. Or just lie in bed as comfortably as you can.
Put one hand on your heart and one hand on your belly. Close your eyes and breathe. Connect to baby.
Two hearts beating as one.
Envision how you would like the birth to go...
Envision this every night before bed until the universe has decided it is time.
The universe listens and responds.
Envision with non attachment.
Unpredictability exists.
Flow with the experience.
Know what you want and remain open to the unknown.
The best advice I received from my birth doula was toward the end of my daughter’s birth. She watched me wince and desperately try to escape the pain of every contraction. She encouraged me to not only stay with the pain but to open to it. With every contraction that followed I did my best to stay with the pain and allowed myself to open. It really worked.
